Men’s Volleyball Falls in NACC Tournament Quarterfinal

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's volleyball team finished up the best season in the program's young history on Tuesday night with a five-set thriller against the Stars of Dominican.

The Stars took control of the match early with a pair of victories in the first two sets with scores of 25-20 and 25-22.

The Falcons stormed back with a set-three victory and a final score of 25-18. The set saw the Stars jump out to a small lead to open the set but the Falcons rumbled back and took an 11-9 lead. The Blue and White broke open the rest of the set with a 14-9 run to end the third. Both freshman Ben Kayser (Milwaukee, Wis.) and junior Spencer Herman (Kimberly, Wis.) recorded three kills in the set.

The fourth set was a nail-biter with countless ties and lead changes and a total of 16 extra points.

The set finished with a Falcon victory at 34-32. Spencer Herman came in big with 10 kills in the set and many down the stretch. He put the nail in the coffin with a kill for their 34th point off an assist from Kayser.

Dominican took control back of the match with a 15-11 victory in the fifth set and a 3-2 match victory.

Herman led the birds with 25 kills and 20 digs. He broke the season record for digs with the performance. He also added a service ace.

Sophomore Logan Kebisek (Brookfield, Wis.) came through with 50 of the 57 Falcon assists. He added two kills.

The Blue and White put a cap on the program's best season to date with the largest number of overall wins in a season, the most conference wins in a season and the first home playoff game in program history.

They look to come back hungry in the 2024 season.
