Falcons Open the Year at Ripon

RIPON, Wis. – The Falcon men's track and field team sent some representatives to Ripon to compete in the Ripon Winter Open Invite.

The Falcons took sixth place with a team score of 33 points, while the Titans of Wisconsin-Oshkosh claimed first.

In 5000-meter, junior Timmy Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) placed first with a time of 15:35.01, earning the Falcons 10 points. In the 400-meter dash, freshman Mason Kinney (Red Bud, Ill.) placed 15th with a time of 1:01.10.

A lot of the Falcons' points were earned by throwing units. Three falcons participated in the weight throw. Sophomore Mitchell Moeller (Cedarburg, Wis.) placed 3rd with a throw of 14.84 meters. Senior Seth Day (Sunset Hills, Mo.) also earned points in the weight throw, finishing 10th place with a throw of 11.13 meters, while fellow senior Theo Ryder (Denver Colo.) placed 13th in the event with a throw of 10.88 meters.

In the shot put, Mitchell Moeller (Cedarburg, Wis.) placed 4th with a throw of 12.89 meters, while Seth Day (Sunset Hills, Mo.) placed 5th with 12.62. Jacob Couillard (Kingsford, Mich.) and Theo Ryder (Denver, Colo.) also placed 13th and 14th in the event.

Meanwhile, sophomore Nate Waech (West Bend, Wis.) placed 6th clearing 3.50 meters in the pole vault.

The men's team looks forward from here to their competition at the Carthage Firebird Opener in January.
