Men's Tennis narrowly falls to Lake Forest

Lake Bluff, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin Falcons fell 5-4 in their road opener to the Lake Forest Foresters on Saturday.

THE BASICS

-Order of Finish: Doubles (1,2,3), Singles (1,2,4,3,5,6)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Foresters took the first two doubles matches, but the duo of Tim Peters (Slinger, Wis.) and Nathan Raskin (Shorewood, Wis.) won the No. 3 match (8-4) for the Falcons.
- Lake Forest took a 3-1 lead with a victory at No. 1 singles, but the Falcons cut the lead in half as Christian Docter (Madison, Wis.) took the No. 2 match with a 6-4, 6-3 victory for CUW.
- The Falcons evened up the match at 3-3 as Gabe Binversie (Plymouth, Wis.) won 2-6, 7-6, 11-9 at No. 4 singles.
- The No. 3 singles match concluded next with the Foresters coming out on top to retake the lead at 4-3.
- Peters kept the Falcons alive with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.
- Tied 4-4, the competition was decided with No. 6 singles match, where the Foresters managed to win a three-set battle to take the deciding fifth-point.

-The Falcons compete twice on the road Sunday, February 9, facing Luther at 2pm and Carthage at 5:30pm.
