Three from Men's Soccer net NSCAA All-Region honors

KANSAS CITY – Three members of the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer team received NSCAA All-Central Region recognition as the organization announced its awards Thursday. Gavin Falotico, Colin Dibb and Dagoberto Diaz all were honored for their play during the 2016 season.

It marks the second straight season in which the Falcons have placed three on All-Region teams. Falotico (Palatine, Ill.) was the repeat selection, gaining Second Team honors for the second straight season. Proving himself as one of the top defensemen in the area, Falotico played in and started 16 matches this season. He helped the Falcons to five shutouts throughout the course of the year.

Diaz (Woodburn, Ore.) led CUW with 10 goals in 2016 after starting all 18 matches. The sophomore proved to be a clutch performer with four game-winning goals, two of those coming in one-score games. He netted multiple goals on three separate occasions and totaled three assists throughout the season from his midfield position.

Dibb (Hartland, Wis.) led CUW in points with 27, scoring nine times and adding nine assists. The junior transfer got off to a fast start, scoring five goals in the team's first three matches of the season. He had three or more points six times, including a season-best five in the season-opener. He netted three game-winning scores in his first season in a Falcons uniform.

The Falcons posted a 13-5 record in 2016 and a 6-4 mark in NACC play. CUW started the season with a 5-0 record, which resulted in the program's first Top 25 national ranking.
