Men's Soccer well represented on All-NACC Teams

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer had six players recognized by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference for their play during the 2016 season as the league office released the 2016 All-NACC Teams Wednesday. The Falcons placed three players on the All-NACC First Team and three on the All-NACC Second Team.

Senior Justin Clayton, along with sophomores Gavin Falotico and Dagoberto Diaz were named First Team All-NACC for their efforts on the pitch this fall. In addition, juniors Luis Loya and Colin Dibb, along with freshman Justin Totsky were honored with Second Team selections. Totsky was also chosen as a member of the NACC All-Freshmen Team.

Falotico (Palatine, Ill.) was a repeat First Team All-NACC selection as he was one of the top defenders in the league once again. The sophomore center back started all 18 matches and helped lead a defense that posted five shutouts and allowed just one goal per contest throughout the season.

Clayton (Crete, Ill.) was honored by the conference for the third time in four seasons, completing an impressive career in a Falcons uniform. It was his first First Team All-NACC selection after being chosen to the Second Team last fall, along with an All-Freshman nod in 2013. Clayton had eight points this season while being one of the top defensive midfielders in the conference.

Diaz (Woodburn, Ore.) was one of the Falcons top offensive options this season, leading the team with 10 goals. He added three assists, finishing the year with 23 points. Diaz scored six of his 10 goals during conference play and finished with 56 shots in 10 league contests. He also led the Falcons in game-winning goals, scoring four throughout the year.

Totsky (Colgate, Wis.) was named to the Second Team, along with his All-Freshmen Team nod after an impressive year as the Falcons pairing at center back with Falotico. He and Falotico formed a quality duo for the Falcons and should be one of the top center back pairings in the NACC for the next couple of seasons.

Dibb (Hartland, Wis.) and Loya (Bolingbrook, Ill.) were two of the Falcons top forwards in 2016. Dibb led the team with 27 points, 12 of those coming in NACC play. He scored nine goals and assisted on nine more. Loya finished the year with 18 points, scoring seven goals and adding four assists. Three of those goals came during NACC play. Loya and Dibb each tallied three game-winning goals during the year.

The Falcons finished the 2016 with a 13-5-0 overall record, starting the season with five straight wins and making an appearance in the NSCAA Top 25 for the first time in program history. CUW posted a 6-4-0 mark in NACC play this season.
