Men’s Lacrosse Had a Stellar Season

MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia Wisconsin men's lacrosse team finished the season 11-6 overall and 6-2 in conference play. With a total of 17 games, the Falcons scored 228 goals with 145 assists. Looking closer at the per-game stats, the Falcons had 13.41 goals per game and 50.24 shots per game. 

The season started out with Keijo Day being named to the assistant coach position after being a longtime Falcon men's lacrosse player. 

The Falcons named four players to captains for the 2023 season; Jason Borchert, Noah Brandt, Matthew Sierzega, and Jack Gromosky

In February, the Falcons started their season by scoring 24 goals against the Monmouth Fighting Scots. The 24 goals in a game ties the Falcons at fourth in the program's existence with the latest coming at Beloit in 2016.

On March 7, Max Esposito was named to the USILA NCAA D3 National Team of the Week for the first time in his career. 

On March 27, head coach Mike Fahey recorded his 100th win with a come-from-behind victory.

To wrap up the month of March, the Falcons participated in St. Baldrick's Fundraiser. With 10 participants walking into the site in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, the men's lacrosse team walked out with 20 members having participated in the event. The Falcons raised $3,500 as a team.  

On April 1, the Blue and White opened up conference play undefeated with a 16-1 win over Beloit.

On April 26, Max Esposito broke the record for points in a season with a win over the MSOE Raiders to earn the team a spot in the 2023 NACC Tournament. Esposito finished the season with 94 total points including 45 goals and 49 assists. 

The Falcons claimed NACC weekly honors on multiple occasions. On April 5, Evan Leden was named the NACC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time. On April 12, Max Esposito was named the NACC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time. On April 19, the Falcons swept the honors with Noah Brandt claiming the Defensive Player of the Week and Max Esposito claiming the Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Max Esposito was named to the IMLCA All-Region team with an Honorable Mention Attackman appearance, he was also named  NACC Offensive Player of the Year and earned All-NACC First team honors. 

Gio Nowotarski and Jason Borchert also claimed All-NACC First Team honors. 

Noah Brandt and Brett Dowler received All-NACC Honorable Mentions. 

The Blue and White return to Fitting Field in February 2024.
