Spartans Sink Falcons

MEQUON, Wis. – In a battle of unbeaten NACC teams, the Spartans of Aurora walked away with the victory to send the Falcons to 10-4 on the year and to 5-1 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

The loss snaps a six-game winning streak for the Blue and White.

Freshman Jason Michalski (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.) scored the first CUW goal of the game off a pass from senior Jack Gromosky (Danville, Ind.).

The Falcons took advantage of an Aurora penalty and scored a man-up goal in the second quarter off a freshman Preston Meier (Owatonna, Minn.) assist.

Sophomore Gio Nowotarski (Reading, Pa.) started the second-half scoring off a pass from Jack Gromosky.

Three minutes later, senior Matthew Sierzega (Grayslake, Ill.) found the back of the net off a pass from Gio Nowotarski.

Gio Nowotarki scored a pair of back-to-back goals for the Falcons.

Jason Michalski had the final CUW goal of the day off an assist from sophomore Max Esposito (Gaithersburg, Md.).

Senior Noah Brandt (Owatonna, Minn.) led the flick with six ground balls

Senior Evan Leden (Waukegan, Ill.) led CUW with nine saves on Saturday.

The Falcons look to rebound on Wednesday at MSOE.
