Men’s Lacrosse sunk by the Sabres

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons came up short in the final home game at Fitting Field on Friday evening. The Blue and White fell to Marian by a score of 17-8 to move to 4-7 on the year and to 2-3 in NACC play.

Freshman Adam Verner (Portage, Mich.) started the scoring on Friday afternoon less than four minutes into the game.

Senior Donovan Harper (Yorba Linda, Calif.) found the back of the net at the 7:06 mark of the first quarter.

Sophomore Jack Gromosky (Danville, Ind.) scored the final goal of the first quarter with 28 seconds left in the frame off a pass from senior Ryan LeFebvre (Chicago, Ill.).

Adam Verner snapped the Sabres scoring streak with a goal at the 11:12 mark of the fourth quarter.

Two minutes later, senior Taitum Priewe (Janesville, Wis.) snuck the ball past the Marian keeper.

CUW scored the final three goals of the game with Jack Gromosky and senior Keijo Day (Esko, Minn.) scoring the final two goals.

Senior Alex Loding (Mundelein, Ill.) collected 23 saves and eight ground balls on Friday.

The Sabres held a 61-41 margin in shots on Friday.

CUW is scheduled to close the season on Saturday at Illinois Tech.
