SEWARD, Neb. – The rabid crowd inside Friedrich Arena went home with smiles on Saturday night. The Bulldogs of Concordia Nebraska claimed the Concordia Invitational Tournament title with an 82-64 victory.
The Falcons landed the first shot with a layup from senior Gabe Pruss (North Fond Du Lac, Wis.).
Senior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) drained a layup to put the Falcons up 10-8. That would however be the last lead of the night.
The Bulldogs of CUN landed a few punches and took a 45-32 lead into halftime.
The Falcons trimmed the deficit to six on two occasions in the second half.
Gabe Pruss led the flock with 21 points on Saturday.
Senior Grant Karsten (Decatur, Ill.) posted 14 points
Jared Jurss was named to the All-Tournament Team with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists.
The Falcons return to non-scholarship play on Tuesday against St. Norbert.
