Raiders Rumble Past CUW

MEQUON, Wis. – The Raiders of MSOE earned a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) victory on Tuesday night inside the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse. MSOE picked up an 87-70 victory to improve to 3-3 and 1-1 in conference play.

The Raiders opened the game on a 9-0 run to start the action on Tuesday. The skid was snapped with a layup from senior Gabe Pruss (North Fond du Lac, Wis.).

The Red and White pushed the lead up to 35-18 before junior Zech Hans (Hartland, Wis.) drained the first three-point basket of the evening after starting off 0 for 11 from behind the arc.

The Raiders ballooned the lead up to 19 points at 43-24 with 1:17 left in the half.

The Falcons went on a 4-0 run in the final minute of the first half and a buzzer-beating jumper from senior Matt LeVene (Manitowoc, Wis.) sent the teams into halftime at 43-28.

The biggest lead for MSOE came at 63-41 with 11:12 left in the game.

A layup from sophomore Adam Bruins (Oak Creek, Wis.) trimmed the lead to 76-65 with 1:33 left in the game, but 11 points are the closest Concordia could get. The basket was his first collegiate point.

Senior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) led CUW with 17 points and eight assists.

Sophomore Jonah Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) also scored his first collegiate points on Tuesday night.

The Falcons are back in action on Saturday at Illinois Tech.
