Kittel named NACC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Sophomore point guard Eric Kittel has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the events of February 23-March 1, the league office announced Monday.

Kittel (Brillion, Wis.) helped lead the Falcons to a NACC Tournament Championship last week, averaging 18.5 points per game in two NACC Tournament road wins. The Tournament title earned CUW the NACC's automatic bid in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

He scored 20 points in a semifinal win over second-seeded Benedictine, including connection on four shots from 3-point range. Kittel then drained five from downtown, finishing with 17 points in a 73-71 win over top-seeded Aurora in the NACC final.

Kittel and the Falcons will take on No. 8 UW-Stevens Point in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Falcons and Pointers will tip off at 8 p.m. from Bennett Court at the Quandt Fieldhouse in Stevens Point.
