Concordia University Wisconsin escaped its recent offensive woes with a breakout performance to defeat unbeaten Lakeland College in convincing fashion, 86-61, on Wednesday night inside the R. John Buuck Field House. The Falcons also snapped a four-game losing streak against the rival Muskies.

A crucial 24-7 scoring run during an eight minute and 50 second stretch in the first half blew the game wide open and gave all momentum to CUW in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game. During the run, seven different Falcons found the scoring column and four had multiple field goals.

The scoring onslaught continued during the second half of play, as the lead increased to 20 or more points for the final 15 minutes of the game. CUW ended with a commanding 44-24 advantage in paint scoring and an 18-4 positive differential in second chance points.
