Falcons fly past WLC 90-58

Jumping out of the gates to lead 10-0, 16-2 and 18-4 in the first half, the Falcons protected their home court with a 90-58 Northern Athletics Conference Tournament Quarterfinal victory over Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday.

In total, 14 different players scored for Concordia led by Mitchell Schneider's 18 and 15 from Skip Newton-Kemp, as the Falcons shot a blistering 64.5% from the field in the opening 20 minutes and finished at 59.4% for the game.

The Falcons worked the ball inside and registered 44 points in the paint while also knocking down nine-of-19 three-point attempts, with Schneider hitting four out of the five triples he attempted.

Aaron Clark and Noah Kegley were among the Falcons to register the first points of their young collegiate careers, with 25 total players between the two teams all notching at least one point. The Warriors, who saw their season come to a close at 5-21, were paced by 16 points from Jeremy Murphy.

The win improved the Falcons record to 23-3 overall, as they find themselves ranked 21st in the nation and first in the region. More than 500 fans packed the John Buuck Fieldhouse, with the bulk of the fans dressed for the white out.

"The crowd was outstanding tonight," said Falcons Head Coach Shawn Cassidy. "The players fed off their energy."

Concordia will look to feed of the crowds energy once again on Friday, when they entertain Edgewood College in a NAC Tournament Semifinal at 7pm. Edgewood knocked off Lakeland in a quarterfinal, 84-72.
