Falcon men handle Cougars 79-55
River Forest, IL
CUW sprinted from a 35-33 halftime deficit to a 79-55 win over
previously undefeated Concordia- Chicago (4-1) this afternoon on
the loser's court.
After shooting just 33% for the first 20 minutes and trailing by as
much as 11 points (26-15) , Shawn Cassidy's cagers turned on the
afterburners with 60% marksmanship over the final 14 minutes to win
going away.
The game was tied 43-43 with those 14 minutes remaining before
David Lopez came off the Falcon bench to hit back-back 3 pointers
followed by a layup to create an 8 point Concordia-Wisconsin
cushion.
The befuddled Cougars, worn down by CUW depth, never got an
closer.
Mitchell Schneider led the Falcons (3-1) offensively with 19 points
while Lopez connected for 16. Edward Newton-Kemp (15) and Cory
Stark (11) also finished in double figures.
