Falcon men edge Benedictine 85-83
Lisle, Il
After building a 47-42 halftime lead, CUW (22-3) was able to hold
off host Benedictine 85-83 in the NAC crossover game at BU this
Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles (18-7) got within a point at 77-76 with 2:50 to play but
a pair of free throw by Luke Doedens, followed by layups by
Mitchell Schneider and Cory Stark rebuilt the lead. Benedictine
actually cut the final margin to 2 on a 3 pointer at the
buzzer.
Doedens led Concordia with 21 points, but an 11 point effort by
reserve David Lopez off the bench was key. So too was a 7 point
and 6 rebound performance by another reserve; Zach Neumann.
