MADISON, Wis. – The game can be so simple at times, yet the pressure makes it so difficult and Concordia Wisconsin experienced it all on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons won an electrifying 5-4 match over Edgewood to win the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament Championship inside Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- With the match tied at 4-4, it all hinged on sophomore Sabine Jacobsen (Palatine, Ill.) and her ability to defeat her No. 3 singles opponent. After falling behind 4-6 after the first set, she fought back in the second set with a 6-4 decision to even the match. The right-hander battled back and forth, and overcame a deficit to send her teammates jumping for joy with a third set 7-5 victory.
- The Falcons found themselves up 2-1 after doubles play, which included an 8-4 win by sophomore Hannah Tresedder (Kingsford, Mich.) and junior Michaela Wagner (Oswego, Ill.) at No. 2 doubles along with an 8-3 decision by freshman Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.) and freshman Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) at No. 1 doubles.
- Edgewood responded by winning the next two point with a victory at No. 2 singles to even the match. However, Concordia Wisconsin's Kelly and Wagner pushed the advantage out to 4-2 after winning 6-1, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-4, respectively.
- The Eagles won the next two points to set up what is most likely the longest match in program history for the Falcons.
- Earlier in the morning Concordia Wisconsin downed No. 6 Alverno by a 5-0 score. They won all three doubles to take a quick 3-0 lead. Kelly and Wagner won their singles match to advance the team to the championship match.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Concordia Wisconsin won its first even NACC Tournament Championship in program history.
- The Falcons continue to extend their program-record wins in a season and now have 21.
- Kelly moved into first place all-time in program history and now has 22 singles victories. Wagner isn't far behind with 20 singles wins this season.
- Jacobsen and Wagner each have 21 doubles victories, which is one shy of the program's singles season record.
