Women's Tennis assists in Street Life Ministries

MEQUON, Wis. - Concordia Wisconsin University's Women's Tennis team took a break from training camp and took some time to give back to the community at the Street Life Ministries. Half of the women's tennis team stayed at the pantry and helped to prepare and serve food for the homeless.  The other half of the group went to the streets to find the homeless who can't make it to the pantry and gave them food and someone to bond with.

Overall, the Falcons helped serve over 600 individuals, which equals close to 162 families that now have more hope and food to survive. This was the first time the Women's Tennis team partook in the Street Life Ministries.

"It was a time to take a break from training camp and bond as a team, while also giving back to the community," head coach Steve Anschutz said. "It is always good to help those who are less fortunate than we are."

What began as a feeding ministry out of a pick-up truck became a food pantry, and is now much, much more than that. It is the mustard bush that grew from the tiniest of Kingdom seeds. We are a pantry and a clothing mission, but we are also a community of hope designed to draw others into the mission with us. We serve every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
