Women’s Tennis opens NACC play by defeating Aurora

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin began Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play on Saturday defeating Aurora, 7-2, in its home opener.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons began the match by winning two of the three doubles competitions. Sophomore Hannah Tresedder (Kingsford, Mich.) and junior Michaela Wagner (Oswego, Ill.) blanked their opponent, winning 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.
- In the singles matches, CUW won five out of the six matches with No. 4, 5 and 6 singles matches, only allowing four points total to be scored against them combined.
- In the No. 5 singles match, freshman Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.) blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Sophomore Sabine Jacobsen (Palantine, Ill.) and Amanda Ropiak (Franklin, Wis.) came from behind in their doubles match to force a tie breaker, which they won 7-3 giving them the 9-8 match win at No. 3 doubles.
- Wagner only allowed two points to be scored against her all day, after not allowing a point against her Tresedder in their doubles match and then winning her singles match 6-2, 6-0.
