Women’s Tennis completes spring trip unblemished, set season wins record

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Concordia Wisconsin finished its spring trip with an unblemished record and in the process set the program's single season record for victories. The Falcons downed Agnes Scott 6-3, Ramap 6-0 and Frostburg State 8-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CUW won all three doubles against Agnes Scott to build a quick 3-0 lead in the match. All three of the doubles matches were within four points.
- The Scotties won singles matches at No 1, 3 and 6, but the Falcons three singles matches were enough to earn the overall match victory. Sophomore Hannah Tresedder (Kingsford, Mich.) earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at No 2 singles and freshman Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.) picked up a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 5 singles. Junior Michaela Wagner (Oswego, Ill.) had a battle during her No. 4 singles match, but ended with a 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) win.
- CUW cruised past Ramapo and held a 3-0 lead after doubles play. The duo pairing of sophomore Sabine Jacobsen (Palatine, Ill.) and junior Alisia Macioch (Franklin, Wis.) earned an easy 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.
- The Falcons had difficult singles matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots with freshman Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) winning 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (10-4) and Tresedder ending victorious after a 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6), respectively. Kelly also won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Three other singles matches were either unfinished or didn't start.
- CUW breezed past Frostburg State, which included an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles by Tresedder and Wagner. During singles play, it was Kelly and Macioch who highlighted the action with a 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1 wins, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons 15 victories this season sets the program's single season record, which records date back to 2003-04. It is the sixth-consecutive season they have won double-digit matches.
- Wagner moved into a tie for third place all-time in program history with 37 doubles wins.
- Kelly has 15 singles wins this season, which is currently tied for second in a single season. The record was set by Erin Henrich with 20 wins during the 2009-10 season. As well, Wagner has 14 singles victories this season.
