Women’s Tennis opens up spring trip with a pair of wins

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Concordia University Wisconsin started off their spring trip to South Carolina with a pair of wins on Tuesday. The Falcons defeated Fairmont State 7-2 and then finished the day with a 6-3 win over Heidelberg University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons started off the day winning two of the three doubles matches against Fairmont State. Sophomore Hannah Tresedder (Kingsford, Mich.) and junior Michaela Wagner (Oswego, Ill.) came away with an impressive 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
- During singles play freshman Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.) defeated her opponent in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Junior Alisia Macioch (South St. Paul, Minn.) also performed well at No. 6 singles defeating her opponent in straight sets 6-0, 6-2.
- In their second match of the day, CUW again won two of the three doubles matches against Heidelberg University. Tresedder and Wagner played well again coming out with an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Sophomore Sabine Jacobsen (Palantine, Ill.) and Macioch got their second doubles win of the day at No. 3 doubles, topping their opponent 8-5.
- Wagner had a very close and competitive match at No. 4 singles, defeating her opponent 7-5, 6-4 in straight sets.
- Kelly got her second win of the day at No. 5 doubles in convincing fashion winning 6-2, 6-3. Macioch dropped her first set 5-7 at No. 6 singles but bounced back to win the second set 6-3 and then won the third set tie breaker 10-7.

- The Falcons return to action on Thursday in South Carolina as they take on Agnes Scott at 8 am and then take on Ramapo 3 pm.
