Four wrestlers earn CCIW Academic All-Conference honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Concordia Wisconsin had four wrestlers earn College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Academic All-Conference honors, the league announced.

Junior Miguel Betancourt (El Paso, Texas), junior Sam Olson (Waukesha, Wis.), senior Mitchell Slatton (Granger, Ind.) and sophomore Ramiro Vasquez (Yuma, Ariz.) each had at least a 3.30 grade point average for the 2017-18 academic year and lettered for the wrestling program.

Betancourt ended the season with 10 victories, with half coming by decision. Olson earned seven wins during the year and six were by decision, while Slatton led the team with 23 victories and he had 12 wins by fall. Vasquez recorded 16 wins and had a 6-0 record in matches decided by technical fall.
