Wrestling drops CCIW dual to Elmhurst
MEQUON, Wis. – Elmhurst was too much for Concordia Wisconsin on Thursday night, winning 31-13 in a CCIW dual inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams traded six points to begin the match by forfeiting a weight class. Elmhurst gave up the 125-pound weight class, while Concordia Wisconsin did the same at 133 pounds.
- Grant Smiley won at 141 pounds by decision to move the Bluejays in front 9-6, but it didn't last long. Junior Miguel Betancourt (El Paso, Texas) won by major decision, 10-1, to retake the lead for the Falcons, 10-9.
- Elmhurst took the 157-pound bout by forfeit and won the 165 contest by fall to go ahead 21-10.
- Sophomore Alex Monitbrand (Barlett, Ill.) helped Concordia Wisconsin lessen the deficit with a 4-2 decision win, but that was all the scoring they could record. Elmhurst won the 184, 197 and 285-pound weight divisions.
