No. 4 North Central Tops Wrestling

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Concordia Wisconsin wrestling team fell to the No. 4 North Central Cardinals in a dual meet on Thursday night, dropping to a star-powered team that had won its previous four outings.

Junior Devin Gore (Plymouth, Wis.) opened the evening for the Falcons, putting up a fight against Christian Guzman, who entered the day ranked No. 1 nationally by the National Wrestling Coaches' Association. Fellow No. 1 Robert Precin snatched another win in the following match to put the Cardinals in front.

The Falcons continued to face nationally-ranked wrestlers throughout the dual, as No. 6 Javen Estrada, No. 5 Alex Villar, and No. 15 Cole Cerventes earned wins as the meet continued. No. 6 Robby Bates clinched a victory in the heavyweight match for North Central to seal the dual.

The Falcons will be back on the mat to begin the postseason on February 15, competing in the CCIW Duals in Elmhurst, Illinois.
