Softball honored as Easton/NFCA All-Academic Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Softball team had an outstanding season on the diamond in the spring of 2017. As it turns out, the Falcons were even better in the classroom last year, as they were once again honored as an Easton/NFCA All-Academic Team.

CUW ranked 30th among all Division III teams with a 3.49 team GPA. They ranked first among NACC schools.

In addition, the Falcons had 14 players receive NFCA Scholar-Athlete recognition. In order to be honored as a Scholar-Athlete, the play achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Those 14 players from the 2017 roster were: Becky Bonnin, Emily Brekke, Jacqueline deWerff, Bekah Hahn, Lexi Holsten, Nicole Lewis, Kendra Little, Molly O'Connell, Jamie Reiser, Sara Rosenow, Emma Schimberg, Carly Sobrilsky, Deidra Weinberger, and Maddie Zazas.

To be recognized as a NFCA Scholar-Athlete, a player must have posted a 3.5 GPA or higher. A total of 1,825 players from across the country were recognized as Scholar-Athletes, and the Falcons 14 players were among the most from one team nationally.
