Around the Bases: Senior Day highlights Saturday Softball doubleheader

MEQUON, Wis. – The NACC-leading Concordia University Wisconsin Softball team will honor its two seniors, along with three juniors who are also likely concluding their collegiate careers in 2017, Saturday afternoon in a NACC doubleheader against Edgewood. The Falcons are also looking to stay atop the NACC standings and continue their home winning streak.

THE BASICS
- Who: Concordia Wisconsin (23-7, 12-2 NACC) vs. Edgewood (3-25, 1-13 NACC)
- When: Saturday, April 22, 2017
- Where: CUW Softball Field

FREDDY'S SPRING TAILGATE
- CUW will be the place to be Saturday as four teams are playing at home. Freddy wants to celebrate the occasion with a spring tailgate, beginning at 1 p.m. The first 100 fans to the tailgate (near the Baseball and Lacrosse Fields) will receive free food and a t-shirt.

LIVE COVERAGE
- Every home softball game will feature live stats. New this year, live video will be available for home games, weather permitting. AROUND THE BASES
1) Seniors Carly Sobrilsky and Lexi Holsten will be honored after the doubleheader on Saturday. The duo has been a part of 99 wins over the past four seasons. Each player has received multiple All-NACC accolades and has started all four years.

2) In addition, three juniors will be honored as well Saturday. Emily Brekke, Christine Sharon, and Deidra Weinberger are all possibly concluding their careers with the Falcons this spring as well for various academic reasons.

3) The Falcons have won 16 straight games at home dating back to last season. CUW is a perfect 8-0 at home in 2017, winning those games by a combined score of 52-11.

4) CUW is coming one of its most impressive performances in program history, a sweep over four-time defending NACC champions Aurora Monday. The Falcons won the two games by scores of 5-1 and 7-0.
