No. 7 ACHA Hockey Sweeps MSOE

MEQUON, Wis. – The seventh-ranked Falcons brought out the brooms with a 13-0 victory over the Raiders of MSOE on Saturday night. The victory sends CUW to 20-5-0 on the year.

Crisp passing was the name of the game for the Falcons. The birds started the scoring in the third minute from senior Lucas Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) from tic-tac-toe passes from senior Alex Way (Ottawa, Ont.) and senior Sam Weiss (Glen Ellyn, Ill.).

CUW struck again 50 seconds later when senior Jacob Palmerio (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) scored off a pass from junior Ian Malcolmson (Waukesha, Wis.) from behind the net.

Alex Way added to the lead with a top-shelf goal with assists from Lucas Kreuser and Sam Weiss.

Lucas Kreuser finished off the first-period scoring when he slid the puck under the leg of the netminder with senior Lucas Hefty (Oregon, Wis.) and Alex Way adding the assists.

Senior Scott Gregor (Ashland, Wis.) lit the lamp 17 seconds into the second period off a sophomore Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) assist.

Alex Way scored nine minutes later off a pass from senior Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.).

Ian Malcolmson had an easy open net goal after the goalie bit on Jacob Palmerio.

CUW added six more goals in the third period.

Sophomore Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.) scored once the goalie bit again on Jacob Palmerio and Ian Malcolmson assists.

Sam Weiss joined the scoring off a backhanded shot and an assist from Lucas Kreuser.

Lucas Kreuser landed a short-angled shot with Alex Way adding the assist.

Junior Steven Delikat (Oak Creek, Wis.) tapped in a rebound off a shot from sophomore Nolan Judge (Glendale, Wis.) and a senior Easton Williams (Racine, Wis.) secondary assist.

Garrett Wilderman tapped the water bottle on the top of the net on the 12th goal on a junior John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.) assist.

Sam Weiss closed the scoring with a shot from the doorstep on Alex Way and Lucas Kreuser assists.

Senior Ian Robertson (Calgary, Alta.) had 13 saves in the shutout victory.

The Falcons peppered the MSOE net with 78 shots. Lucas Kreuser led the contest with 10 shots.

Concordia won 43 of the 60 faceoffs. Scott Gregor won 13 of his 15 faceoffs.

The Blue and White killed off both penalties on Saturday.

The victory sends CUW to the 20-win plateau for the second time in program history.

The 13 goals ties the season high for the Falcons.

CUW returns to action on Friday at Trine.
