Falcons Mow Down Marquette

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The CUW ACHA team headed south to take on the Golden Eagles of Marquette in an I-43 matchup.

The Falcons continued to exhibit their dominance on Friday night with a 6-2 victory which pushed them to double digits in the win column with 10.

Both senior Alex Way (Ottawa, Ont.) and junior Ian Malcolmson (Waukesha, Wis.) recorded goals in the first period.  Way's goal was assisted by senior Lucas Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) and junior Michael Fradette (Victoria, B.C.).  Malcolmson's goal was unassisted 50 seconds later.

45 seconds into the second period, Way netted his second goal of the matchup with another assist coming from Kreuser as well as fellow senior Lucas Hefty (Oregon, Wis.).  Way was showing why he is one of the best scorers in the conference and possibly the league with another hat trick performance which came with his third goal in the 4th minute of the second period.  He could not have done it without the assist machine Kreuser as well as a secondary assist from senior Sam Weiss (Glen Ellyn, Ill.).

The Golden Eagles netted two goals to close out the period.

The Blue and White pushed off the Golden Eagle attack and netted two more goals in the third period.  Senior Thomas Dyball (Papillion, Neb.) was assisted by guess who Lucas Kreuser.  Way claimed the secondary assist on the Dyball goal which was on the powerplay.  Malcolmson put the exclamation point on the victory in the 12th minute of the third period with his second unassisted goal of the matchup.

Alex Way finished with three goals with Lucas Kreuser claiming four assists.

The Falcons look to remain undefeated not only at home but within the state of Wisconsin on Saturday night when they battle to show who owns the Wisconsin ACHA Division II scene.
