Women’s Cross Country Starts the Spring at WLC

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The CUW women's cross country team opened the 2021 spring season with a second-place finish at the Wisconsin Lutheran Warrior 5K Road Race. The Falcons finished with 35 points on Saturday afternoon.

Senior LaNea Bartel (Kewaunee, Wis.) was the individual champion with a time of 19:14.87.

In second place was freshman Anessa Yim (Spokane, Wash.) at 19:39.22.

Edgewood won the race by taking the third through seven slots,

Sophomore MaryGrace Cleinmark (Danvers, Ill.) crossed the finish line at 21:00.01 in ninth place.

In 11th place was freshman Naomi Gahan (Cedarburg, Wis.) at 21:57.11.

Senior Honey Rose Macatuno (Kodiak, Alaska) clocked in at 22:12.60 in 12th place.

CUW had a back-to-back finish in 16th and 17th place with sophomore Micah Hill (Camdenton, Mo.) at 22:48.82 and sophomore Madison Chiappetta (Lenexa, Kan.) at 23:02.71.

The Falcons are scheduled to compete next at the NACC Championship on March 27.
