Women’s Cross Country finishes second in fall finale

MEQUON, Wis.  – The CUW women's cross country team finished in second place in the final race of the fall season against Edgewood and Wisconsin Lutheran. The Falcons finished the five-kilometer race with 43 points. Edgewood claimed the title with 21 points and Wisconsin Lutheran finished in third place at 63 points.

Sophomore MaryGrace Cleinmark (Danvers, Ill.) led CUW in second place at 19:58.6.

In sixth place was sophomore Micah Hill (Camdenton, Mo.) at 21:16.7.

The Falcons had a back-to-back finish with freshman Abigail Van Rixel (Athens, Wis.) in ninth place at 21:37.3 and senior Honey Rose Macatuno rounded out the top 10 at 21:41.3.

Senior Alden Goucher (Port Charlotte, Fla.) crossed the finish line at 22:42.4 to finish in 16th place.

Freshman Anessa Yim (Spokane, Wash.) secured a 17th-place finish with a time of 22:46.7.

Freshman Naomi Gahan (Cedarburg, Wis.) rounded out the lineup for the Blue and White in 19th place at 23:29.4.

The Saturday race is the last scheduled event for the Falcons.
