Triathlon opens 2019 season

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW triathlon team opens its fourth year on Sunday at the NCAA Central Region Qualifier in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

The Falcons are scheduled to compete in five races in 2019. CUW will also compete at Trine, Illinois, the NCAA East Regional Qualifier in Virginia and the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships in Arizona.

The Blue and White are led by second-year head coach Jeff Shawhan. Shawhan is a seven-time Ironman Finisher and earned Ironman All-World Athlete status four times, the latest a gold selection in 2017. In 2018, the new Falcons leader earned a USAT All-American Athlete Award.

CUW boasts a roster of eight in 2019, including five returners.

The Falcons added four new faces to the roster.
