Women’s Lacrosse routes Benedictine

LISLE, Ill. – Concordia Wisconsin had the running clock initiated in the first half and never looked back during a 21-6 MWLC victory on Wednesday afternoon at Benedictine.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After being down 2-0 just over five minutes into the game, Concordia Wisconsin answered with five goals in a row over the next two minutes and 58 seconds. Benedictine stopped the scoring streak with a marker, but the barrage of goals came against as the Falcons piled on eight more to take a 13-3 lead with eight minutes to play before halftime.
- Concordia Wisconsin scored with 58 seconds to play before halftime and added four-consecutive goals to begin the second half and blow the game wide open.
- The visitors were dominant in gaining possession by winning 19-of-24 draw controls and were also nearly perfect by clearing 10-of-11 attempts. They finished with a 52-15 shots advantage and were successful on 3-of-6 free-position shots.
- Freshman Ciara Bond (White Bear Lake, Minn.) led all scorers with six goals, while junior Lauren Paquin (Waukesha, Wis.) had five goals and three draw controls. Senior Caitlin Henry (Lansing, Ill.) recorded four goals and program-tying 13 draw control wins.
- Junior Kristen Kennedy (London, Ontario) and sophomore Nicole DeMeo (Niles, Ill.) each had two goals. Senior Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill.) led the defensive efforts with three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Sophomore Kennedy Boyer (Saline, Mich.) made five saves in goal.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Bond also had two assists for to total eight points, which was one shy of tying the program's game record.
- The Falcons 21 goals were the most since May 1, 2015 and tied for the fifth most in a game in program history. Their 52 shots were the second most in a game, only behind the 54 taken at Loras on April 26, 2014.

THE OPPOSITION
- Victoria House led the Eagles with three goals and Lexie Orr netted two markers of her own.
- Emma Redfern made 21 saves in net.
