Women's Lacrosse picked second in MWLC preseason poll

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Concordia Wisconsin was chosen to come in second in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference according to the preseason poll, voted on by the league's head coaches.

The defending co-champions, Concordia Wisconsin will look to regain the MWLC title this year. The Falcons finished last season with a 10-1 record in conference play (12-7 overall). CUW received 3 of the 12 first-place votes and 109 total points in the preseason poll.

Hamline was voted first with 114 points and 7 of 12 first-place votes, while Illinois Tech was tabbed third with 106 points and two first-place votes. Augsburg and Aurora were tied for fourth with 88 points, Beloit was sixth with 64 and Benedictine was seventh with 63.

Wartburg was selected eight with 49, Loras was selected ninth with 38 and Concordia Chicago 10th with 33. Monmouth (24) and Cornell (19) rounded out the final two spots in the poll.

The MWLC's regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the four-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship Tournament.
