Esports Qualifies for WVAC LAN Tournament
MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin esports program made program history by clinching a spot in the Wisconsin Valorant Academic Circuit (WVAC) LAN tournament.
Unlike most esports competitions, the WVAC LAN tournament is an in-person event set up to crown and determine the best collegiate Valorant team in the state.
Concordia enters the tournament with momentum after navigating through the WVAC Upper Bracket with a 2-1 record over the past two weeks as they defeated UW-Stout 2-1 and UW-Madison 2-0 before falling to UW-Milwaukee 2-0 in the tournament semifinals.
Head coach Jack Slater expressed eagerness about the team's chance to compete in such a tournament, stating, "We look forward to this opportunity to compete in-person. We have had an excellent tournament so far and we look to come home as the best Valorant team in Wisconsin."
CUW's first match is slated for 3 p.m. at UW-Milwaukee on Saturday, Dec. 9th, while the Tournament Grand Finals are set to commence at 6 p.m.
