CUW Esports Prepares for Playoffs

MEQUON, Wis. – With the playoffs quickly approaching, the CUW esports team went 6-5 in their last week of regular season competition.

Valorant kicked off the week with a bang, taking down the Owls of Waukesha County Technical College 2-1. 

In Super Smash Bros Ultimate, CUW's royal team took the comfortable 2-0 win over Emory & Henry College and Northeast Technical College to improve to 5-2 on the season, while the silver squad dropped their match against Lycome to have their record sit at 3-4. 

On Tuesday, the League of Legends team closed their regular season against the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University. CSBSJU snuck away with the victory to bring the League of Legend's regular season record to 3-2.

Wednesday saw the Rainbow Six Siege team improve to 3-3 in their final regular season match of the year, as they took down the Hoosiers of Indiana University with a convincing 2-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Southern Arkansas University got the best of the Falcons in NBA 2K, securing the close 3-2 win over the Falcons.

In Valorant's regular season finale, the Blue and White improved to 4-2 with a shutout, 2-0 win over Indiana.

Thursday also saw CUW's Valorant team drop to 2-4 in the regular season with a 3-0 loss against Huntingdon College.

Esports closed the regular season on Friday with a doubleheader featuring the Call of Duty and Rocket League teams. Despite their best efforts to hand Newbury their first loss, the Call of Duty squad could not secure the victory.

However, Rocket League continued esport's successful week against Indiana University, taking the 3-0 victory over the Hoosiers. 

The esports team will now look ahead to playoffs, as Valorant will start the postseason action on Nov. 13th versus Purdue, while other schedules are yet to be released.
