Women's Lacrosse scheduled to play Augustana in NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – Concordia University Wisconsin will play Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., in the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament on Sunday, May 10, the NCAA announced during its selection show on Sunday night.

The game will take place at Thorson-Lucken Field and draw control is set for 1 pm.

CUW (13-6) won the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Tournament by outscoring Benedictine and Aurora by a combined score of 40-10. They also won the MWLC regular season with an undefeated 7-0 record. The Falcons have won a program-record 13 games and boast the MWLC's Offensive Player of the Year (Hannah Redden), Rookie of the Year (Allison Kurek) and Coach of the Year (Emily Mason Schoessow). They also rank in the top-40 nationally in seven statistical categories, including scoring margin (17th, 7.16 per game) and caused turnovers (14th, 11.95 per game).

Augustana (18-1) won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament on Saturday and CCIW regular season earlier in the season with an undefeated 6-0 record. The Vikings enter the NCAA Tournament on an impressive 16-game winning streak. They rank first nationally in scoring offense, scoring margin and assists per game. Augustana has the CCIW Defensive Player of the Year (Kaylee Nolan, midfielder) and Coach of the Year (Meredith Newman).
