MEQUON, Wis. – Check off another goal for Concordia University Wisconsin, after claiming the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday afternoon with a commanding, 17-7, victory over Aurora University at Fitting Field.

The Falcons continued their record-breaking season by earning the 13th win of the season, which is a program record. It wasn't a surprise CUW was the dominant team, after scoring four goals in the first 10 minutes of action. The visiting Spartans couldn't slow down the hosts in the second half either, as the Falcons piled on 11 goals over the final 30 minutes of action in the victory.

CUW awaits its opponent in the NCAA Division III Tournament, as the NCAA selection show is scheduled for Sunday night at 8:30 pm at NCAA.com.

All season it was has been a team effort and Saturday wasn't any different, with seven players scoring at least one goal and 13 players picking up a ground ball or causing a turnover. On offense, it was freshman Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill.) and senior Hayley Peppers (Franktown, Colo.) who led the way five goals each. Kurek also had two assists, eight draw control wins, five caused turnovers and four ground balls. Senior Sammi Reiter (Stillwater, Minn.) and freshman Amanda McKay (Portland, Ore.) also scored twice each.

The Falcons made it stressful for the Spartans, causing a program record 22 turnovers and limiting the visitors to 14 shots on goal. CUW's Peppers led the defensive efforts with four caused turnovers and six ground balls. Reiter and sophomore Veronika Metanova (Palatine, Ill.) each caused three turnovers, while junior Sabrina Boehlke (Random Lake, Wis.) and McKay each caused a pair of errors. Freshman Caitlin Henry (__) didn't stuff the stat sheet, but provided excelent one-on-one defense to slow down Aurora. Metanova also tallied seven saves and picked up five ground balls to earn the victory between the pipes.

CUW won 16-of-26 draw controls, thanks in large part to Kurek who had eight draw controls wins. She now owns the program's season record for draw control wins with 99. The Falcons cleared 18-of-23 attempts, led 31-21 in ground balls and scored on 4-of-6 free-position attempts. In addition, junior Jenna Brown (Roseville, Minn.) tied the program's season record for game-winning goals with the eighth marker of the game with 26:12 to play in the game.

After leading 4-0 just under 10 minutes into the contest, Aurora found the back of the net twice over the next two minutes. It didn't take long for CUW to respond with five unanswered goals to go ahead 9-2 with 22 minutes to play in the game. Both teams then traded goals for the next 16-and-a-half minutes prior to the Falcons scored three in a row to end the game.

This season the Falcons have earned 12 double-digit wins, including four-consecutive over the last week.

Aurora (11-7) was led by a trio of players who scored twice, while Rachel Cochran had two assists. Chloe Madison added seven draw control wins and two ground balls. Allee Samuel made nine saves in goal.
