Women's Lacrosse remains undefeated in MWLC play with victory at Beloit

BELOIT, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin began Thursday night's game by scoring 10-consecutive goals en route to a commanding 15-7 victory over Beloit College to remain undefeated in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference play.

The Falcons, who were chosen to win the league in the MWLC Preseason Coaches' Poll, put on a show offensively with five players finding the back of the net multiple times. They have now outscored the four conference foes they played by a decisive 63-16 margin. The victory was also the fifth-straight, which is a new program record.

Freshman Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill.) was the top goal scorer with a career-high five, while senior Hannah Redden (Libertyville, Ill.) had one of the best games in her career with seven points (two goals). She assisted on five markers, which was one shy of tying the program record that she set last season. Freshman Amanda McKay (Portland, Ore.) also got into the action with a career-high three goals. Senior Emily Heckendorf (Merrill, Wis.) added a pair of goals and assists, to go along with four draw control wins. Junior Jenna Brown (Roseville, Minn.) recorded a pair of assists.

CUW (6-3. 4-0 MWLC) dominated the draw control, winning 18-of-23, which was tied for the sixth most in a game in program history. Kurek won a career-best nine of those draw controls (third most in a game in program history). As well, they shared the ball extremely well with a season-high 10 assists (sixth most in a game in program history).

Beloit was led by Libby Storrick who had a hat trick, while Sara Fithian found the back of the net twice. Kelley Flint picked up a game-high-tying six ground balls.

Sophomore Veronika Metanova (Palatine, Ill.) recorded nine saves in a winning effort for the Falcons.

CUW returns to action on Wednesday at 5 pm at Carthage College.
