Holman makes history with second All-NCHA selection

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Lexi Holman certainly left her mark on the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey program. Holman, who leaves the Falcons with plenty of records, became the first player in program history to earn NCHA All-Conference honors for a second time as the league announced its 2017-18 awards Wednesday.

Holman (Sauk Rapids, Minn.) was also named to the NCHA All-Conference Team following the 2015-16 season and gained her second selection after an outstanding senior season. She recorded 26 points in a year where she also became the Falcons all-time leading goal scorer.

Holman scored a career-best 14 goals in 2017-18, six of those coming on the power play. She finished her career with 15 power play scores, also a program record. She added 12 assists and tied for the team lead in points with Kristen Kennedy.

The Falcons have had five other players earn NCHA All-Conference recognition over their careers. They are: Christina Pattengale (2016-17), Emily Heckendorf (2014-15), Sarah Luberda (2010-11), Lea Jondal (2009-10), and Brandi Jonasson (2008-09).

Olivia Spellmire of Lake Forest was named the NCHA Player of the Year while regular-season champion Adrian captured the other two major awards. The Bulldogs Chad Davis was selected as Coach of the Year by his peers while Bulldogs goaltender Kate Turner was honored as the Freshman of the Year.

Holman and the Falcons finished the 2017-18 season with a 12-13-2 overall record. The Falcons qualified for the Slaats Cup Playoffs after finishing fourth in the NCHA.
