Penalty Box Confessions: 2017 Women's Hockey Blog

As you may have heard, the women's hockey team competed in a match against their alumni this past Saturday. Our seniors, Chloe Bachman, Amanda Curtin, and Lexi Holman, were asked to join the alumni team because of the few numbers they had.

This Saturday ended in an unfortunate loss for your 2017-18 women's hockey team, ending with a shootout goal scored by alumni Jayda Hoerres. The final score was 5-4. Several Falcons obtained points during this game. Natasha Wanless, Jossa Danis, Kristen Kennedy, and Sam Lombardi all now have at least one point under their belt before our first road trip to Saint Benedict College to take on the Yellow Jackets and Blazers this weekend. Chloe Bachman also scored her first goal of the season by, "unintentionally" hitting the puck in with her hand, the team would still like to see the instant replay.

Speaking of Chloe, I have asked our assistant captain a few questions about the game, here are her responses.

Q. So Chloe, how do you think the team played, overall, during the first game of our season?

A. I was impressed by how hard everyone was working, and very pleased that we put some points on the board!

Q. Do you think this game has set a good tone for our upcoming games this weekend?

A. Yes, I think it was a good start. We can now work on putting everything together so that we are ready for what comes next J.

Q. What do you think our team needs to focus on to become better throughout our season?

A. I think most of our systems rely on us getting our feet moving and being ahead of the play, so it will be very important to successfully execute them to better our game.

And finally, Chloe,

Q. Do you think your goal should have been allowed?

A. I'm not the ref. No further comments.

There you have it fellow Falcons, our very own Chloe Bachman giving us the inside scoop on her views on how the women's hockey team will be this year.

Well, that's all for now, hope to see you at our first home games November 3rd at 7 pm, and November 4th at 3 pm! Support your team by bringing all your closest friends to the Ozaukee Ice Center.
