Eight from Women's Hockey earn NCHA All-Academic honors

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey program had eight players recognized by the NCHA Wednesday as the league announced the 2017-18 All-Academic Team. The Falcons were well-represented with the third-most selections of the 10 teams in the league.  

In order to qualify for the NCHA All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be of sophomore status academically and have a 3.3 or higher cumulative GPA. Adrian and St. Scholastica each had 10 players earn the All-Academic honors, the Falcons with the next most at eight players.

A pair of seniors earned the All-Academic nod for the third straight season for the Falcons. Both Chloe Bachman and Lexi Holman were honored by the league as third-year selections.

Two juniors received All-Academic recognition for CUW in Christina Pattengale and Ellie Woodman. CUW had a pair of sophomores earn the honor in their first year of eligibility in Issy Bilton and Breanna Thomson. In addition, a pair of freshmen who are sophomores academically were All-Academic nods in Madi Chapman and Kaitlynn Lloyd.

The Falcons will play in the Slaats Cup Playoffs this weekend at St. Scholastica. The first of the two-game series is set for Friday at 7 p.m.
