Rink Notes: Marian visits Women's Hockey for NCHA series

MEQUON, Wis. – Following a second straight weekend split, the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey team is looking for its first sweep of the 2017-18 season when it hosts Marian for two key NCHA matches.

THE BASICS
- Who: Marian (0-4, 0-2 NCHA) at Concordia Wisconsin (2-2, 1-1 NCHA)
- When: Friday, November 10 – 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, November 11 – 7:30 p.m.
- Where: Ozaukee Ice Center – Mequon, Wisconsin

DIGITAL GAME PROGRAMS
- A digital game program for this weekend's games can be found here. A limited number of front-and-back programs will be available at the rink for $2. Fans can also access the digital game program at the rink by visiting cuwfalcons.com/program on their mobile devices.

RINK NOTES
- Breanna Thomson is off to a strong start this season, posting a 2-0 record with 71 saves. Thomson has got the call to start in each of the Saturday games for the Falcons and is coming off a career-best 45 save performance against Lake Forest.

- So far this season the Falcons have used the combination of Lexi Holman-Natasha Wanless-Kristen Kennedy as the top line. The Falcons top forwards trio has produced, each player scoring at least three points, with Kennedy leading the way with four (2G, 2A).

- The Sabres are 0-4 thus far, including a 0-2 start in the NCHA. Marian dropped two close ones against St. Scholastica last weekend (3-2 and 2-0). Morgan Bolin leads Marian with four points thus far.

- Three of the five NCHA series last weekend resulted in splits. The Adrian/Northland and Finlandia/Trine series both resulted in splits, along with the Falcons and Foresters. Only St. Norbert and St. Scholastica were able to secure sweeps in the first NCHA weekend of the year.

- Last season Marian and CUW tied for fourth in the NCHA standings, but the Sabres earned the final spot in the Slaats Cup Playoffs due to a 2-1-0 season advantage. With the addition of three teams to the NCHA this season, the Falcons will play each team twice and six teams will qualify for the Slaats Cup Playoffs.
