Men's Soccer posts Senior Day shutout win over Finlandia

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer team had a good day Saturday, celebrating the career of 10 seniors who have had a great impact on the program and defeating Finlandia by a 5-0 score. The Falcons have now won their past two contests by a combined score of 17-0.

THE BASICS
- Final Score: Concordia Wisconsin 5, Finlandia 0
- Location: Fitting Field – Mequon, Wisconsin
- Records: Concordia Wisconsin 8-3-3; Finlandia 5-7

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons and Lions had to wait awhile to get play started on Saturday as a weather delay occurred right after the senior day presentation. The match was delayed a little over 40 minutes.

- CUW got on the board in the 16th minute when Zach Gyuricza (Chicago, Ill.) struck for his fourth goal of the season. Freshman Cristian Tyrpak (Hartford, Wis.) found Gyuricza for the match's first goal.

- CUW would add two more scores before the end of the half, Tyrpak with the first of those and junior Brian Tener (Glenview, Ill.) with the second. Senior Josiah Ochoa (Mundelein, Ill.) assisted on the Tener score with under three minutes to go before halftime.

- The two second-half scores came from seniors for the Falcons, Colin Dibb (Hartland, Wis.) and Ochoa. Another senior, midfielder Jake Swihart (Oostburg, Wis.) assisted on the Dibb score.

- Nate Yeager (Rio Rancho, N.M.) and Joshua Bobke (Oconomowoc, Wis.) split time at keeper for the Falcons. Neither made a save, as Finlandia finished with just six shots, none on goal. The Falcons ripped off 19 shots, eight on goal.

- The Falcons senior class consists of 10 players – Dibb, Ochoa, Swihart, Reed Waldhart, Michael Benash, Devin Bathke, Cameron Sweeney, Luis Loya, Jeremy Jenich, and Sam Vandehaar.
