Falcons fly by Dolphins in convincing fashion

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Concordia Wisconsin flexed its muscle on Tuesday night, scoring the game's first 16 goals en route to a dominating 25-4 victory over Mount Saint Vincent in non-conference action at Gaelic Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons scored early and often, taking a 6-0 lead after the first quarter and owning a 14-0 advantage by halftime. They added two more scores before the Dolphins netted back-to-back markers. CUW then registered nine more goals during the final quarter-and-a-half.
- CUW overwhelmed Mount Saint Vincent with a 44-24 shots advantage, including 34-11 on goal.
- As well, the Falcons finished 2-of-2 on man-up chances, with senior Marino Best (Nanaimo, British Columbia) and junior James Warner (Ham Lake, Minn.) taking advantage of the Dolphins errors.
- Senior Matt Garvey (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and junior Colin Raley (Inverness, Ill.) each had hat tricks in the victory, while six other Falcons scored twice. In all, 15 Falcons scored and 19 recorded a point in the lopsided matchup.
- Freshman Garrett Wohlford (Rochester, Minn.) made three saves during the first half to earn the win between the pipes.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- CUW's 40 points (25 goals, 15 assists) are the sixth most in a game in program history, while its 25 goals are the third most. The 15 assists are tied for the eighth most in a contest.
- Freshman Jack Donnellan (Grayslake, Ill.) recorded his first career goal with 2:08 to play in the third quarter.
- Freshman Jeremy Facer (Seattle, Wash.) tallied his first career score with 1:55 to play before halftime and added another goal with 7:16 to play in the game.
- Junior Jake Fiebelkorn (Schaumburg, Ill.) had his first career goal with 94 seconds to play before halftime.
- Freshman Colin Hoch (Lino Lakes, Minn.) reached the scoring column for the first time in his career with 2:09 to play left in the third quarter and added another score with four seconds left in the same period.
- Freshman Warren Kaminsky (Winnipeg, Manitoba) found the back of the net for the first time in his career less than two minutes into the second half.
- Sophomore Michael Pimentel (Crown Point, Ind.) tallied the first goal of his career with just under four minutes to play in the game and then added another less than a minute later.
- Junior Zaccariah Strand (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) marked the first goal of his career with seven second to play before the intermission.
- Freshman Max Schramm (Edwards, Colo.) saw the first action of his career in goal and made two saves.

THE OPPOSITION
- Germain Ngaba paced the Dolphins with two goals and an assist, while also winning 8-of-17 faceoffs and picking up eight ground balls.
- Joshua James and Michael Puchalski each scored a goal.
- Arben Gashi took the loss after giving up 14 goals and making five saves in the first half.
