Beaudry Sets Scoring Record as Falcons Steamroll Buccaneers

BELOIT, Wis. - After scoring 27 goals just once in the program's first 13 years, the Concordia Wisconsin men's lacrosse team accomplished the feat for the third time in its 2024 campaign on Saturday afternoon. Led by senior Parker Beaudry's (Sherwood Park, Alta.) fourth seven-goal game of the year to set the single-season scoring mark, the Falcons hammered the Beloit Buccaneers by a 27-8 score.

Concordia dominated out of the gate, scoring seven times in the first 5:14 of action. Senior Caleb Ruger (Grafton, Wis.) and junior Max Esposito (Gaithersburg, Md.) each struck twice, while Beaudry took responsibility for the team's remaining three goals. Having entered the game tied with the program's single-season scoring record, Beaudry's first goal granted him sole possession of first on the leaderboard. The Buccaneers managed to assemble three consecutive scores between the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second, but the Falcons answered the call, surmounting 12 goals in the period.

Esposito and Beaudry struck just 37 seconds apart to begin the scoring run, while the former and senior Matthew Sierzga (Grayslake, Ill.) would go on to pot another pair of goals in a 0:41 span. After a brief intermission by way of a Beloit goal, the Falcons picked up right where they left off, as junior Gio Nowotarski (Reading, Pa.) scored less than a minute later.

Freshman Bryce Peterson (Waukesha, Wis.) and Esposito found the back of the net 15 seconds apart to give Concordia an 11-goal lead, while freshman Tyler Husby (Eagan, Minn.) also submitted a goal within the next minute. Beaudry potted an additional two goals as the first half wound to a close, and after collecting three assists in the second quarter, Ruger joined the scoring parade to close the opening 30 minutes of play.

The Falcons emerged from the second half to score four goals to Beloit's one, two of which came off of Husby's stick. His three goals in the game tied a career-high, while sophomore Connor Quill (Schaumburg, Ill.) picked up a goal to secure his first-career multi-point performance. Freshman Jaxon Hill's (Bismarck, N.D.) name was behind the final Concordia goal of the quarter, which came with just 15 seconds remaining on the clock.

Pederson collected three of Concordia's goals in the fourth quarter, standing as another Falcon to set a career-high during the game with four total scores. Junior Hunter Swazey (Escondido, Calif.) notched the final goal of the day, scoring his third of the season with 1:31 to play.

In a game headlined by a multitude of individual accolades, the Falcons also managed to set a team record in the effort. Concordia's 13 total assists contributed towards breaking the program's single-season record of 174, set in 2014.

The win itself vaulted the Falcons into a spot in the NACC tournament, which will represent the team's third consecutive appearance in the event.

Concordia will conclude the regular season with a two-game homestand, set to begin on April 24 against the 5-9 Benedictine Eagles.
