Men's Lacrosse dominates 2nd half against Augustana

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin controlled the second half in every facet on Saturday en route to a convincing 9-6 victory over Augustana at Fitting Field. The Falcons outscored the Vikings 6-2 and Garrett Wohlford made nine saves over the final 30 minutes of play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons offense found a spark in the second half after finding themselves down 4-3 at halftime. After a Vikings goal, they rattled off six-straight goals to turn a two-goal deficit into a commanding 9-5 lead with four minutes to play.
- While the offense was find the back of the net, it was freshman Garrett Wohlford (Rochester, Minn.) who was making impressive saves to anchor CUW's defense. He made 14 saves in the game, but specifically had nine saves in the second half.
- After back-to-back goals by senior Matt Garvey (Winnipeg, Manitoba) in the third quarter, it was senior Zachary Foster (Calgary, Alberta) who connected with freshman Eric Carrolan (Pleasanton, Calif.) for a goal with just three second to play in the period that would sway all momentum in the Falcons favor.
- Garvey led all goals scorers with a hat trick, while freshman Stephen Gregory (Louisville, Ky.) added two goals and an assist.
- Senior Zachary Doll (Kirkwood, Mo.) picked up a game-high six ground balls and a trio of Falcons caused two turnovers.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Wohlford's 14 saves were tied for ninth most in a game in program history.
- Doll's six ground balls were a career high.
- Garvey's hat trick was the second of his career.

THE OPPOSITION
- Alexander Crescenti and Jared Hawkins each had a pair of scores for the Vikings.
- Hayden Holland and Nick Zielinksi each picked up a team-best three ground balls and Zielinksi caused a pair of turnovers.
- Jerrell Collymore won five faceoffs and Jack Peters made nine saves.
