Roberts steps down as Men's Lacrosse head coach

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin will have new leadership in its men's lacrosse program for the 2013-14 season, as announced by Director of Athletics Dr. Rob Barnhill on Tuesday afternoon. A national search for the next head coach will begin immediately.

After three seasons, former head coach Jeff Roberts stepped down as CUW's head coach to become an assistant coach with the men's lacrosse program at Marquette University, an NCAA Division I member.

"I would like to thank Coach Roberts for his years of service in our department," Barnhill said. "Jeff was charged with the Herculean task of starting a collegiate lacrosse program from scratch and did an admirable job. I wish him the best in his professional endeavors and look forward to new leadership in the program. Concordia University Wisconsin is a very special place and I am quite certain we will find a capable coach to continue the building of our young program."

Roberts was the first head coach in program history after men's lacrosse was added prior to the start of the 2011 season. He led the Falcons to a 26-20 overall record and a 14-13 mark in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference. Roberts directed CUW to one MLC Tournament appearance, coached 17 All-MLC honorees and was named MLC Coach of the Year in 2012.
