MILWAUKEE – Concordia University Wisconsin competed with Marquette University to the end, but dropped a 9-5 exhibition match at Valley Fields to conclude their fall practice season.

"The opportunity to play against a NCAA Division I opponent is a very unique occasion for any NCAA Division III University, and we have had been very lucky here at CUW to do so three times in the past year," head coach Jeff Roberts said. "During this fall season we worked to get our freshman integrated into our system and evaluate all our players on the roster.

"To play outside competition in the fall allows a coaching staff to measure our team against an outside opponent. This year with all the new rule changes proposed by the NCAA for college lacrosse, this allows us to see how the game will differ from past years. Coach [Joe] Amplo extended this great opportunity to our program and it is a remarkable experience for the growth of the CUW program. An exhibition match like this allows our kids to run against D I athletes and compete for 60 minutes. It was a great day for not only the game of lacrosse this past Saturday, but also for the state of Wisconsin. "
