Men's Lacrosse supports Out of the Darkness walk

MILWAUKEE – Concordia University Wisconsin's men's lacrosse team partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention this past Sunday, Oct. 7, when they supported the Out of the Darkness community walk held in Humboldt Park.

The Out of the Darkness walk raised $39,000 for AFSP's dedication to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide.

The men's lacrosse program fundraised and donated $400 towards AFSP's research.

"We as a group donated our time and assets to AFSP by assisting them during all stages of the event from walking, assisting in registration, information and guidance, traffic control and clean-up," head coach Jeff Roberts said.

Earlier this year the men's lacrosse program assisted in the Mequon-Thiensville Rotary Club during the 15th Annual Lobster Fest.
