Falcons Finish First Spring-Season Tournament

GALESBURG, Ill. – The CUW men's golf team wrapped up the Jim Wetherbee Invite on Sunday afternoon. The Blue and White finished in 18th place with a total score of 677 strokes after a 338-stroke day.

Aurora led the Invite with 603 strokes.

Senior Jordan Carlton (Kewaskum, Wis.) was three shots off the lead with a second-day performance of 77 strokes for a total of 151 on the weekend.

Sitting in second for the Falcons was junior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) with 85 strokes in round two bringing his total to 174 strokes.

Freshman Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) put up the second-best Falcon score of day two with 84 strokes which snagged him third place on the Falcon team with 175.

Freshman Nico Murgas-Bennett (Racine, Wis.) ended the weekend in 103rd place with a second-day score of 92 strokes for a total of 177 shots.

The final falcon team member was junior Isaiah Palmquist (Oshkosh, Wis.) who shaved seven strokes off of his total for a 93 on the day and a two-day total of 193.

Freshman Andrew Elmhorst (Manawa, Wis.) competed as an individual for the weekend and came away with a 109th-place finish with 186 total strokes after 88 shots today.

The Falcons hit the course again next Saturday for the Monmouth College Men's Scot Invite.
