ACHA Hockey Bounces Back and Terrorizes Trine

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – The Falcons wasted no time returning back to the win column on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons throttled Trine with a 10-1 victory to improve to 16-6-1 on the year.

The Falcons scored four goals in the first period to send an early message to Trine.

Senior John Swiatek started the scoring on Saturday for the Falcons.

Seconds later, junior Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.) scored on assists from senior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) and freshman Rocco Cicirello (Mequon, Wis.).

Senior Dominic Falcone (Elgin, Ill.) joined in on the scoring off an assist from junior Nolan Judge (Glendale, Ariz.).

Junior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) scored the final goal for the Falcon in the first off an assist from senior Ian Malcolmson (Waukesha, Wis.).

The Falcons rolled the Thunder 4-0 in the second period.

Ian Malcomson scored his second goal of the day from passes from freshman Owen Almburg (Glenville, Ill.) and Nolan Judge.

Freshman Chuck Emme (Glenview, Ill.) lit the lamp from assists from freshman Michael Sobczak (Wood Dale, Ill.) and John Swiatek.

Two minutes later, senior Lucas Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) collected his first goal of the night after Chuck Emme and Ian Malcomson added the assists.

With 86 seconds left in the period, senior Easton Williams (Racine, Wis.) launched the puck into the net after Chuck Emme and Lucas Kreuser touched the puck for a pair of assists.

Williams struck again for the first goal of the third period where Lucas Kreuser and Ian Malcolmson had the assists.

Chuck Emme ended the scoring off an assist from Malcolmson.

The final four CUW goals all came on the power play.

Senior Vincent Falcone (Elgin, Ill.) finished 35 saves on 36 shots.

The Falcons wrap up the Winter Classic against a familiar foe in Marian on Sunday.
